1st & 2nd place at the Jagd & Hund film competition 2020

The international film competition for amateur and professional filmmakers at JAGD & HUND Dortmund celebrated its 25th anniversary this year and inspired with breathtaking pictures from nature. As part of this year's award ceremony on Thursday, the jury awarded a total of 14 prizes.

Krieghoff films take 1st and 2nd place in the hunting and nature film competition 2020

"Mountain goats - under the spell of British Columbia" by hunting and nature filmmaker Mario Theus. In this film, the Swiss hunter Sabrina Bloch and the Canadian outfitter Michael Schneider are on the hunt for the mountain goat. In addition to the breathtaking images from the untouched landscape of British Columbia, this film shows that hunting is much more than just hunting for the trophy.

Sebastian Steinbrink-Minami (already winner of the last film competition in 2018) took second place with his film "A Hunting Season in Germany". Sebastian accompanies hunter Henrik Lott over a complete hunting season at home in Germany hunting for roe deer.

Two films that can not be more different and still show one thing together: The great responsibility that we hunters have today and that hunting is much more than just game hunting or trophy hunting. Both films exemplify how responsible, ethical and sustainable hunting can be in the 21st century.

We at Krieghoff are proud to support such films and congratulate Mario Theus and Sebastian Steinbrink-Minami as well as the protagonists, Sabrina Bloch, Michael Schneider and Henrik Lott on this award!
